Helly Hansen is pushing hard to become one of the best supplier of technical outdoor apparel in the world. Bringing in a leader and expert in its development department to continue to raise the bar was key to continued success.

The Brief

Helly Hansen asked Drayton Partners to execute a specific search in the global marketing place to find someone who had the expertise, knowledge and leadership experience to bring into their development team. Top talent in this field of high end technical development is not commonplace and it was important that whoever came in, was able to raise the bar.

Drayton Partners Approach

With this being such a specific role, Drayton Partners mapped the global market and provided Helly Hansen with a specific list of target companies we would approach. The challenge was of course finding not only someone who had the experience and gumption, also the international mobility to relocate themselves and family to Norway. We did not limit ourselves to what might have been easier from a location perspective, we went after the best talent available, regardless of location.

Outcome

We found an excellent candidate who was based in North America and was keen to challenge herself in a new role in a new environment. She had an excellent background which brought a new and fresh perspective to Helly’s development team and with the added bonus of her husband also being able to secure a position, where he has also really added value over the past few months.
