Drayton Networking Breakfast reveals the principles of Systematic Inventive Thinking (SIT)

Drayton Partners were interested to look beyond the traditional forms of idea generation and understand what new techniques could be adopted to deliver innovation.

On Friday 8th July we welcomed guests to the Etihad Stadium in Manchester for our summer networking breakfast, in conjunction with Dil Sidhu of The University of Manchester, Alliance Business School.

With the prior knowledge that successful innovation is at the heart of a successful business, and companies who fail to innovate can often be left behind and find themselves losing pace in a consumer industry that is moving at unprecedented speed, Drayton Partners were interested to look beyond the traditional forms of idea generation and understand what new techniques could be adopted to deliver innovation.

Our guest speaker, Dil Sidhu, delivered a thought provoking presentation on the principles of Systematic Inventive Thinking (SIT), a tool for developing and harnessing innovative ideas. With his background across both the consumer industry and in leading global academic institutions, Dil was able to draw on a broad range of real world examples and bring SIT to life. We were delighted to be joined a cross-section of leaders from companies such as AB Inbev, Haribo, Florette, Halfords, Co-Op, Birds Eye and Dr Oetker.

Drayton Partners hold networking events on a regular basis and they are an important part of us living the Drayton ‘THINK SMARTER’ philosophy. These events allow us to use our industry network to contribute in our own small way to the development of the market.
