"Seamus and members of the Drayton team welcomed a select group of industry contacts for an informal, but expert, insight in to the current and future implications for manufacturers and retailers alike"

Guest speaker, Seamus Sweeney, brought what could be a challenging and complex subject to life for the room.

On Thursday 12th September, Drayton Partners welcomed a select group of industry contacts to our Autumn Networking Seminar, held at London's Home Grown Club lead by Employment Law Specialist Seamus Sweeney.

Seamus shared his latest assessment of UK pay equality legislation and the impact for manufacturers and retailers alike. The audience heard an insight into some of the most pertinent cases but also a prediction into the future landscape for both employer and employee. Seamus has specialised in the field of employment law for over twenty years and has acted for a huge variety of clients, be it local government, the private sector or the likes of Lord Alan Sugar.

James Peter (Seamus) Sweeney is an Employment Judge, England and Wales, as appointed by the The Lord Chancellor.

We were delighted to see such strong interest in our Pay Equality Event. On the evening we had a broad mix of individuals, with HR leaders being particularly well represented but, critically, a significant number of CEOs and MDs. This is a demonstration of how seriously businesses take the need to provide equality in their pay model. Our guest speaker brought what could be a challenging and complex subject to life for the room. Seamus is one of the UK’s most respected employment law specialists and by combining this with his energy and enthusiasm it ensured that even the more nuanced points were accessible for all. Rob Seery, Drayton Partners.
