Business Development Director for a global Sporting Goods “ingredient” supplier

With the sporting goods sector a key growth area in North America, our client is looking to hire someone who can drive their business forward in this sector, both with existing accounts and also targeting new potential businesses to partner with

  • Location – USA (specific location flexible)
  • Salary – Strong six figure salary, plus a strong bonus/commission package

The Role

  • Lead the acquisition of new business partners to deliver against quarterly targets
  • Manage, service and grow existing commercial accounts
  • Maintain markets and competitive knowledge to position the company as the leading supplier in its field
  • Map the market, plan strategically for future market demands
  • Manage the full development process both internally and externally, maximising margin and commercial returns for each project

The Person

  • 5+ years in a commercial business development/account management role in North America
  • Strong sporting goods sector knowledge and network
  • Self motivated, self managed and driven to succeed
  • Strong appreciation of technical selling practices
  • Ability to travel frequently domestically and occasional international travel
  • Able to influence internally and externally, communicate effectively and present strongly
  • Strong account management and future planning, effective forecasting
