Customer Marketing Manager for Premium Drinks Business

Our client is looking to recruit an ambitious Customer Marketing Manager to join the Marketing team based in London. Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, this individual will be experienced in the UK drinks market, across the On and Off Trade as well as having experience managing Trade PR. Working in a successful small team, the right candidate will already have over 4 years’ experience in a similar marketing role and will be looking to develop their experience by working on a market leading brand.

  • Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 plus bonus and benefits

Role Summary

There is a high level of responsibility and autonomy in this role. The successful candidate will be charged with implementing our customer marketing strategy across the Multiple Grocers and key Foodservice (On Trade) Retail accounts. They will also be responsible for creating and delivering the trade press strategy and communicating with relevant trade press titles.

  • Develop, execute and evaluate key customer marketing plans across Off Trade & On Trade.
  • Deliver the Trade Press advertising strategy and build relationships across key trade titles.
  • Work with the Category Manager adding value through category & shopper insight across channels.
  • Budget management.
  • Develop ’best in class’ selling tools.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Primary focus is on Multiple Grocers and Trade Press; secondary focus is major On-Trade Managed Groups.
  • Work with the Sales team to agree and implement a marketing strategy and budget with key customers, including; Online, Point-of-sale, Value added packs and gift with purchase, Instore media (e.g. Magazine / radio), Interactive activity (e.g. sampling), evaluation and analysis of investment and media plans.
  • Deliver the trade press advertising strategy and develop relationships across key titles.
  • Develop relationships and ensure maximum exposure across relevant trade press titles.
  • Budget management of customer marketing activity – presentation of monthly budget updates.
  • Work with the Category Manager to interpret category data and trends and communicate to the press.
  • Regular presentation of marketing plans, category data and sales tools to the sales teams and customers.
  • Development of single-minded sales tools.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the annual brand plans.
  • Quarterly review of all marketing activity.

Skills & Competencies:

  • At least 4 years’ experience in a similar marketing role.
  • Exceptional organisational & project management skills - Be able to manage several projects at once.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Must be an excellent communicator at all levels – Customer facing.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data.
  • Experience working with IRI or Nielsen.
  • Results orientated & a creative problem solver.
  • Strong motivational skills and ambition - Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Ability to work in a small and fast paced team.

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel within UK
  • Occasional travel abroad (Within Europe)
