They are seeking to appoint an Executive Chair. This role would involve overseeing the group's strategic direction, ensuring alignment with their values of ethical sourcing and sustainability, and supporting the development and execution of growth strategies. The Executive Chair would also work closely with the leadership team to enhance operational efficiency, foster partnerships, and represent the group. The role will initially be 2 days a week, transitioning to 1-2 days a month within 12 months. There will be frequent travel required within the UK.
Key responsibilities:
- Participation in Strategy formation: Work with the Board, Group CEO and CFO to develop the strategy for the group’s future growth and identify opportunities for value-enhancing strategic initiatives.
- Driving Consensus: Collaborate closely with executive leadership to drive consensus and alignment on key strategic initiatives as well as gain support for the growth plan through the corporate structure.
- Strategic Oversight: Provide guidance to the leadership team in the delivery of the Board’s agreed strategic aims, ensuring that the necessary financial and human resources are in place.
- Mentorship and Guidance: Support the professional development of the leadership team, being a mentor and advisor to the Group CEO, CFO and brand MDs.
- Group Integration: Ensure that appropriate structures and processes are in place for the effective management of the organization going forward, including cross-pollinating operational best practice, as well as supporting potential expansion though further acquisitions and specific group-wide projects (e.g. cross-brand marketing).
- Industry Connectivity: Provide valuable insights and leverage industry connections, especially within the UK apparel retail sector, to foster strategic partnerships and access potential expansion opportunities.
- Governance and Compliance: Ensure the highest standards of corporate governance and compliance, working closely with the leadership team to mitigate risks and seize opportunities. Attendance at monthly Board meetings.
- Upholding Standards and Values: Set the group’s values and standards and ensure that its purpose is being shared across the teams.
