Business

Our client is a well-established international business, that has recently created a European operation, headquartered in the UK.

An expert in food and drink, their offering is ‘on trend’ and has enjoyed exponential growth over the last five years. Currently a limited number of retailers sell their products within the EU, however with the creation of a new local organisation, sales and distribution channels will increase and become more diverse. Similarly, product supply routes will also develop to serve European markets. As such as the business evolves, processes and ways of working similarly need to adapt, with the successful candidate instrumental in this ‘journey’.

Role

To support their international growth specifically within Europe we are recruiting a Financial Controller. Working alongside the MD for the region and their direct reports this individual will help embed financial rigour and reporting, through controls, governance and systems.

As the business grows it is envisaged that the successful candidate will similarly evolve transitioning from an individual contributor to manage a team. In addition, they will contribute to more strategic activity and medium-term planning, as the business grows and becomes more complex Commercially and within Operations.

Person

Whilst we are recruiting for an expert that is likely to be ACCA or CIMA qualified the successful candidate will have the commercial flair and interest to think about the future of the business and what can be done to drive strategic growth, operational efficiencies and contribute towards brand extensions.

The successful candidate will ultimately be adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and be required to make decisions often without full possession of the facts. As well as work within a small close-knit team that are passionate about success and growing a European independent entity.
