Human Resources Director for manufacturer of high quality products

Our client is a volume manufacturer of high quality products, supplying all of the major UK sales channels and an increasing international proposition. The individual will take ownership of building a high performing HR function, whilst encouraging a partnership approach across the wider business and parent.Its people are embracing what is a period of significant, progressive and exciting structural change.

The key accountabilities of the role are likely to include:

  • Working with the CEO and senior management team, proactively promote, and enhance the culture and working environment.
  • Deliver the People Strategy and ensure actions are executed in a timely manner.
  • Be responsible for the recruitment and retention strategy.
  • Build strong relationships between the HR team and line managers to deliver excellent customer service to all employees.
  • Develop efficient systems and processes that supply HR information and that support the management team to work effectively.
  • Continually develop and assess the L&D programme to ensure its relevance.
  • Ensure the HR team integrates effectively with the operations team daily.

The successful candidate will need to offer a broad HR leadership background with heavy manufacturing experience. It is essential that the individual has a combination of sharp intellect, self-awareness and drive. The attitude of the person, perhaps offering a restless dissatisfaction with current ways of working, will be vital in ensuring the cultural change continues at pace and in a sustainable fashion.
